»» Senior 3B Brandon Joyce has 116 career RBIs, which ranks fourth in program history. Joyce is one RBI from tying Erik Armstrong and Spencer Jackson for second on the list and 17 behind R.J. Neal for the all-time lead.
»» Junior OF Alex Murphy has reached base in a team-high 19 consecutive games and 22 of the 23 games he has played this season. Murphy is 5-for-9 with six RBIs during a four-game hitting streak.
»» Senior 1B/RHP Justin Kortessis was named the No. 13 pro prospect in the NAIA by Perfect Game last month. Kortessis was 7-0 with a 1.86 ERA in 15 appearances (six starts) for the Sand Sharks last season and is 4-1 with a 2.70 ERA in five starts this season. He has compiled 35 strikeouts in 30 innings in 2017.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
The Tigers have won five straight, including a four-game sweep of Marian (Ind.) over the weekend. Edward Waters has faced Sun Conference opponents Warner (2-1), Ave Maria (1-2) and Florida Memorial (1-1), going 4-4 in those contests.
