Charlotte, NC-- The USCB cross country teams continued to impress at the Royals XC Challenge this afternoon as the men's team finished 30th overall and the women's team took 38th overall. The course was a bit waterlogged from Hurricane Michael, but the teams pushed through to post new individual personal records on the way to their best finish so far this season.

- Freshman Tedros Eckstein led the Sand Sharks a time of 26:42
- Coming off sickness, Wesley Murphy was back in familiar territory with a time of 27:07
- Sophomores Matthew Self, Cameron Taylor, and Justin Dolata also had strong showings to round out the USCB results
- The underclassmen lineup averaged a time of 27:50, continuing their strong showing this year

The cross country teams will now get prepared for their home event, the 11th annual Sand Shark Invitational. What has grown from only four participants to now nearly 80 teams, the event is one of the premiere cross country stops in the Southeast. The Sand Shark Invitational takes place on the campus of Ridgeland-Hardeeville Middle School at 150 Hurricane Alley, Hardeeville, SC 29927.
