Jacksonvile, FL -USCB baseball swung hot bats on Friday and Saturday, and Eamonn Collins threw a no-hitter in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, as the Sand Sharks the swept the Trinity Baptist Eagles in the 3-game series in Jacksonville. The Sand Sharks defeated the Eagles by scores of 15-1 in the opening game of the series on Friday night, and came back to sweep Saturday's doubleheader by scores of 6-0 and 8-1. 

In Friday night's game, Chris Hitchman pitched a 3-hit complete game for his 2nd win of the year, and Jay Newell and Chris Vazquez led the offense with 3 RBIs apiece as USCB came out on top 15-1. Newell had 3 hits to go with his 3 RBIs, and Vazquez had 2 hits - including a triple - along with his 3 RBIs. Cole Hamilton and Steven Mojica each had 2 hits and 2 RBIs. Nick DelBianco (double), Tristan Triplett, Noah Matthews, Tavaris Terrell, and Kevin Smith each had 1 hit. 

In game 1on Saturday, the game belonged to Eamonn Collins (2-5) as he shut down the Eagles' lineup and fired a no-hitter, striking out 11 in the process. On the offensive side, DelBianco and Newell each collected 3 hits and 1 RBI. Cole Hamilton, Noah Matthews, and Tavaris Terrell had a hit each, and Daniel Searles picked up an RBI in the 6-0 victory. 

In game 2on Saturday, Harrison Merck (2-5) pitched the Sand Sharks' 3rd consecutive complete game, allowing just 1 run, while scattering 6 hits and striking out 4. Jay Newell had his 3rd straight 3 hit game - including a double - and picked up an RBI. Hamilton and Matthews (triple) each went 1-4 at the plate with 2 RBIs. Mojica was 1-3 with a double, and Vazquez and Terrell each had a hit, with Terrell also collecting an RBI. The Sand Sharks won 8-1. 

USCB Baseball travels to Laurinburg, NC on Tuesday, April 2nd, to face the St. Andrews Knights at 2:00pm. They come home to Sand Shark Park on Friday, April 5th, and welcome Ave Maria for a 3-game TSC series. The two teams play a doubleheader on Friday at 1pm followed by a single game on Saturday at 12 noon. Saturday is also Senior Recognition Day, and there will be a pre-game ceremony beginning at 11:30am.
