VANCOUVER, Wash. - To cap off a historic 2021 cross country season, both freshman Jacob Mitchell and senior Tewodros Eckstein represented USCB at the NAIA Cross Country National Championships on Friday afternoon.
The rookie distance runner from Rincon, Ga. paced the duo in the 330-person field, as Mitchell finished 221st. In the 8k national championship race, he clocked a 27:47.2. He was just under 12 seconds away from moving into the top 200.
Eckstein also ran, and the senior, who ran in the postseason event a year ago, posted a 29:04.7 mark en route to a 301st-place finish. He was just five seconds away from moving into the top 300.
