The Sun Conference Announces Indoor Track and Field Preseason Polls

MIAMI, Fla. - The Sun Conference announced its annual Indoor Track and Field Preseason Poll on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021, and the USCB women's team was selected to finish second, while the men's team was predicted to finish third.

The poll was voted on by the eight Sun Conference coaches - Southeastern, USCB, Keiser, Warner, Webber International, SCAD, Thomas and Florida Memorial.

The Sand Shark women's team earned runner-up status with 40 team points and a first-place vote as well. Southeastern was selected to repeat, while Keiser rounded out the top three with 39 team points.

On the men's side, USCB was projected to finish third with 39 points. The Seahawks were selected to finish second, while SEU was picked first with six first-place votes.

At last year's Sun Conference Indoor Championship, both Sand Shark squads finished in second place. USCB collected eight event victories at the postseason event - women's high jump, women's pole vault, women's long jump, women's 800m, women's race walk, men's 4x800m relay, men's 400m and men's 800m. Overall the women's team collected 171 points, and the men's team earned 153.5.

The 2022 Indoor Sun Conference Championships will be held in Birmingham, Ala. from Feb. 6-7, 2022.
