RESULTS
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - To conclude the two-meet weekend slate, the USCB men's and women's track and field teams competed in 18 events on Sunday at the JDL Early Bird Invitational inside the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem. 
Field Highlights
After competing in four field events yesterday, USCB sent out 11 Sand Sharks to participate in five field events on Sunday.
The most event USCB had athletes in was the women's long jump - four athletes. Aniah Wright led the foursome, as she finished 17th with a jump of 4.63m. Algeria Scott and De'Andra Brown finished near one another in 21st and 23rd place, respectively. Mercedes Davis rounded out the results in 34th.
On the men's side of the long jump, Noah Bloese-Bueno placed 22nd with a mark of 5.82m.
In the women's weight throw, Allayah Bryan and Sophia Stalford participated, and Bryan collected a top-15 finish at 10.74m. Stalford finished 17th with a throw of 8.36m.
In the 35-person women's shot put, Bryan and Stalford had strong results again. Bryan placed 12th with a heave of 9.84m, and Stalford finished 22nd at 8.50m. 
Track Highlights
Ravi Reed and Eli Smith had high finishes in the men's 600m. Reed posted a time of 1:36.97, while Smith clocked a 1:44.70, Reed finished seventh, and two spots behind him was Smith.
In the men's one mile, Jacob Mitchell posted a fast time en route to finishing eighth. The sophomore posted a 4:31.12, which was just under six seconds from moving into the top-5.
The Sand Sharks sent out 14 athletes to compete in the men's and women's 200m and 400m events. Jordan Hunter had another strong placement, as he finished in 19th place in the men's 400m at 55.41. Michael Johnson led USCB in the men's 200m, as he finished 23rd with a 24.37. In the women's 400m, LeeAisha Ford, Riley Edwards, Davis and Aleah White all ran. Ford and Edwards paced the foursome in 27th and 28th place, respectively. 
Johnson had another strong performance at the JDL Early Bird. This time in the men's 60m qualifiers, and he finished 15th with a time of 7.52.
In the women's 60m prelims, Wright and Brown competed and posted times of 9.81 and 10.37,  respectively. 
What's Next?
The Sand Sharks will rest and recover over Christmas Break to continue their indoor season. The next meet for USCB will be the KMS Invitational, which takes place on Jan. 22, 2023 in Birmingham, Ala.
