CHARLOTTE, N.C. - After 13 days off from competition, the USCB men's and women's cross country teams went back to action on Friday, as the Sand Sharks ran in the Queen City Invite at McAlpine Creek Park.Â
MEN'S RESULTS
Similar to last week, Jacob Mitchell again paced the Sand Sharks. The rookie clocked a 26:46.30 in the 8k race to finish 117th out of 310 runners.
Just 20 spots behind his teammate was Tewodros Eckstein, as he posted a 26:59.72.
Sam Williams had the third-best mark for USCB, as the junior ran a 28:43.06 en route to placing 207th.
Travis Patten and Eli Smith also ran, as they clocked 30:40.21 and 30:56.18 times - respectively.
WOMEN'S RESULTS
In her first meet of 2021, Jenitza Trinidad competed in the women's 5k. She clocked a 20:45.28, as she finished 118th out of 262 runners.Â
Coming in 141st place was the female Sun Conference Runner of the Week from two weeks ago - Cydney Stevenson. She ran a 21:07.37 in the second meet of the year.
Eleven slots behind Stevenson was Riley Edwards, as she posted a 21:28.78.
Sarahna Herndon and Oriana Hernandez rounded out the times for USCB at 23:17.24 and 25:19.53, respectively.Â

The Sand Sharks will return back to Charlotte on Oct. 8, as they will prepare to compete in Queens' second meet of the year - Royals Cross Country Challenge.
