RESULTS
SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The USCB men's and women's cross country teams sent out seven runners to compete on Saturday morning at the Converse Kick-Off. Jacob Mitchell headlined the results on the men's side, as he finished 24th, and Cydney Stevenson and Riley Edwards set PRs in the 6k race at the Milliken Research Park.
Men's Highlights
Mitchell led the two Sand Sharks that ran on the men's side, as he finished 24th out of 118 runners. In the 8k race, Mitchell posted a 26:41.9.
Travis Patten was the other Sand Shark representative, as he posted a 32:21.5 en route to finishing 103rd.Â
Women's Highlights
Like in the season-opening race, Stevenson and Edwards finished near one another at 62nd and 66th place, respectively. Stevenson posted a 26:48.2, while Edwards earned a 26:57.3 in the 6k event. Both Stevenson's and Edwards' times set new personal records for the Sand Sharks.Â
Emily Conder and Brianna Raffa also finished near each other at 78th and 80th place, respectively. Conder ran a 28:20.9, and Raffa posted a 28:23.8.Â
Eva Kristjansdottir also ran for USCB. She slotted in 90th place with a mark of 29:18.8.
What's Next?
Taking just six days of rest, USCB returns to competition on Friday, Sept. 23, as it heads up to Charlotte, N.C. to race in the Queen City Invite. The afternoon meet will commence at 3:30 p.m.
