BLUFFTON, S.C. - Following a five-game and 10-hit week, junior outfielder Brian Meyer was recognized for his work on the field by the Continental Athletic Conference as the league's Hitter of the Week.

Meyer kicked off his week with a three-hit game against Catawba, which featured a double, one RBI and a run scored. He followed that up with a two-RBI performance against Francis Marion to conclude play at the Pepsi Invitational, where Meyer tallied seven hits, three runs and three RBIs in the three games at FMU's ballpark. 

In USCB's first-ever Peach Belt Conference series, Meyer stayed hot with two, three-hit games. In the series opener he posted three hits and a RBI followed by a 3-for-4, performance to go along with two RBIs, two runs and a walk in the one-run win over the Bearcats.

On the week, Meyer went 10-for-21 with two doubles, six RBIs and four runs scored.

On the year, the junior is hitting a team-best .386. He has 17 hits, eight runs, three doubles and seven RBIs. He also boats a .396 on-base percentage to go along with a .455 slugging percentage and seven stolen bases. 

Meyer and the USCB baseball team will rest and prepare for the Sand Sharks' first-ever home PBC series against Claflin. The three-game set begins on Friday at Richard Gray Stadium at 6 p.m.
