How it Happened
Following a leadoff single to open the game, the Panthers scored its only run of the game courtesy of a sac fly from DeShawte Carraway.
However, USCB would storm right back in the bottom half of the first thanks to an RBI two-bagger from Humphrey. Galassi picked up the second RBI of the inning with a groundout to first.
USCB sent the bottom half of the lineup up and broke the game opening scoring four in the bottom of the second. Andre started the inning with a triple and scored on Hunter Miller's two-run single. Humphrey added another run-scoring hit for the Sand Sharks, plating Miller who advanced to third on a wild pitch.
After Claflin scored a solo run in the third, the Sand Sharks sent nine men to the plate in a five-run third. Four straight hits opened the inning with RBIs from Aiden Driscoll-Sadusky, Miller and Tanner.
The fourth started the same way as the third, with back-to-back hits from Galassi and Tanner. Two more runs would come across the plate that inning, and the Sand Sharks would pour it on, scoring six runs over the final two innings.
Blume found his stride in the middle innings, facing the minimum in three of the 6.1 innings of work. The right-hander recorded a season-high in strikeouts with 11.
