HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - After starting the year with a series loss at No. 9 Webber International, the USCB baseball team opened its home portion of the schedule with an offensive outburst, hitting three home runs en route to an 11-4 victory over Middle Georgia State Tuesday afternoon in Hardeeville.

How It Happened
Middle Georgia State plated the first run of the afternoon after Rafeal Gomez Jr hit a solo home run in the first inning. However, USCB scored three in the second behind the strength of a Miller solo blast and run-scoring singles from Hunter McKown and Carson Phillips.Â
Tanner added to the Sand Shark lead the next inning, blasting a three-run shot to make it 6-1.Â
Humphrey doubled home a run in the 4th and an RBI groundout in the 5th made it 8-1, USCB.Â
The Knights would add two runs in the sixth. Again, the Sand Shark offensive stayed hot starting with a Czech single to center in the bottom half of the inning and Miller drilling his second homer of the game in the eighth to make it 11-3.Â
MGA added one more run in the ninth, but Patterson closed out the first victory for USCB in 2023.Â
