How it Happened
The Nighthawks scored one in the first with a single up the middle, but Blume worked out of an early jam after Meyer nailed the runner at home, ending the threat.
After going scoreless in the bottom of the first, the Sand Sharks took the lead in the second following Driscoll-Sadusky's two-run blast to right. North Georgia took the lead in the top of the third after Tim Conway hit a two-run homer of his own.
The back and forth continued, as USCB opened the bottom half of the inning with three straight hits. Meyer hit a chopper down the right field line scoring two, giving the Sand Sharks a one-run lead.
However, the Nighthawks knotted the game the fourth after a leadoff double and RBI single. Conway gave UNG the lead in the fifth after ripping an RBI single past Blume.
Meyer picked up another RBI in the fifth after grounding out following consecutive singles, tying the game at five.
MacPherson relieved Blume in the eighth and gave up the go-ahead run when Justin Bailey recorded a sac fly, but the Sand Sharks continued to battle.
Ambrose singled to open the eighth inning, and the next two batters failed to reach. USCB looked to its bench, calling upon Mack Cromer, who ripped an RBI single, tying it at six. After Meyer singled, moving Cromer to third, Cromer scored the go-ahead run courtesy of a wild pitch.
MacPherson struck out the side in the ninth to secure the win for USCB.
