HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - USCB and Columbus State were in a one-run battle through the first six innings, but the Cougars broke the game open with a nine-run eighth inning, finishing a three-game sweep of the Sand Sharks, 14-1, on Sunday afternoon at Richard Gray Stadium.

How it Happened
Both teams exchanged zeros through the first three innings.

USCB left the bases load in the fifth but pushed across its first run in the sixth on a Miller RBI groundout.
However, the Cougars pushed the lead back to two after back-to-back, one-out, extra-base hits. Wylie collected his third RBI, and Win Johns chased Minick with an RBI single through the left side, making it 4-1.
Columbus State would tack on another run in the seventh and added nine runs in the eighth, breaking the game open. Zack Brockman worked seven and two thirds of one-run ball before being relieved by Ryan Suppa in the eighth.
Suppa got Brian Meyer to ground out to second to end the game by a score of 14-1.
