How it Happened
Following a scoreless first inning, USCB looked to keep the Knights off the board in the second. However, after a leadoff walk and back-to-back doubles, St. Andrews led 1-0, and Christian Donaldson would relieve starter Wood.
Two more runs scored after consecutive sacrifice flies, and Chris Le tripled to right, making it 4-0 after two.
Garrett Hamby hit a two-run homer in the fourth, and Jude Drzemiecki singled to right field in the fifth, extending the lead to seven.
The Knights pushed the lead to eight the next inning after Cesar Morillo collected a run scoring hit.
USCB broke through in the seventh after Freeman laced an RBI to center. Dawson followed with a run-scoring single to left cutting into the Knights' lead.
St. Andrews answered in the bottom of that frame by scoring two runs of its own. Le ripped a single to Freeman at second to score the mercy-invoking run.
