GREENVILLE — Squaring off with the likes of Charleston Southern, Clemson and Tennessee USCB Women's Cross Country finished 10th overall at the Furman Invitational Saturday morning.
"Overall it was a solid first meet," said coach Tercia Harris. Our returners were able to gage how well their summer and preseason training has prepared them, and our freshmen were able to get their feet wet on a collegiate course for the first time."
Cydney Stevenson paced the way for Beaufort posting a team-best 28.20.27 good for 93rd overall out the 109 player field. Taylor Atkinson finished four spots behind Stevenson in 97th with a time of 28.56.98 in her first collegiate meet.
Beaufort native Sofia Mejia completed her 6K in 31.00.62 while Aniah Wright and LeeAisha Ford finished with times of 36.39.27 and 37.07.74 respectfully.
"The weather was good, we tackled some hills on the course, and now we are aware of what we need to work on for the rest of the season."
