COLUMBIA — Despite not having enough runners to score in the standings, the three USCB runners posted times that were mere seconds off their personal records at the Aikah McMillion Invitational Saturday afternoon in Columbia.
"It was a great meet for the men's team even though they couldn't score," said coach Terica Harris. "All of our guys were within 60 seconds of their PRs, and like always we were able to see what we need to work on in these next few weeks at practice."
Jacob Mitchell led the trio of Sand Sharks, finishing 8th overall with a 26.12.5 time. Jay King finished with a time of 29.45.4, averaging just under a six minute mile time. Travis Patten averaged a 6.13 minute mile finishing with a 30.55.6.
USCB hosts Savannah State on Tuesday for a dual meet. The race begins at 3 p.m. in Bluffton.
