MILLEDGEVILLE, GEORGIA – The University of South Carolina Beaufort women's cross country team hit the road on Friday evening to compete in the Bobcat Invitational, hosted by Georgia College & State University. The Sand Sharks placed 10th overall in the meet, totaling 314 points.
Madison Thomas claimed the overall individual title, while Augusta University was the team meet winner at the Bobcat Invitational.
Leading the way for the Sand Sharks was Avrie Farrington, who paced the team with a time of 23:16.68 in the 5K, the fastest time of the evening for USCB. She finished 69th overall.
Grace Napoli was the second finisher for the Sand Sharks, placing 77th overall with a time of 24:00.43.Next across the line was Chandler Riley, who ran the 5K in 24:06.73, earning an 80th-place finish.
Sofia Mejia followed as the fourth scorer for USCB, clocking in at 24:34.03 to finish 84th overall.
Rounding out the scoring for the Sand Sharks was Teresa Shepard, who completed her first collegiate 5K with a time of 28:40.69, placing 104th overall.
The Sand Sharks will return to action at their home meet the 18th Annual Sand Shark Invitational on Saturday, October 11th.
